This section publishes announcements from companies, organizations and public bodies. Press releases are written by the organization that issues them, not by our newsroom, and we publish them apart from our news coverage.
How press releases are labeled
- Every release is filed in the Press Release category and carries a “Press Release” label above the headline.
- Releases are bylined to the issuing organization, never to a member of our editorial staff.
- Each release opens with a disclosure line naming who issued it and, if the release was a paid placement, stating that it was paid for.
- Links in a paid release, and any link pointing to the issuing organization, use the
rel="sponsored"attribute, as Google recommends for paid links. - Releases are not filed in our News section or in our section pages (U.S., Business, Technology and so on), and they are not presented as reporting by Amazing News Media.
What every release includes
We publish releases in one consistent format so readers can tell at a glance what they are reading:
- Headline
- Dateline: originating city and state, and release date
- Body text supplied by the issuing organization
- About the organization (short boilerplate)
- Media contact: name, organization, email and website
What we review before publishing
Our editors check each release for the basics before it goes live: that the issuing organization is real and reachable, that the release is clearly an announcement and not disguised advertising, and that it follows our Advertising and Sponsored Content Policy. We do not fact-check every claim in a release, and publication is not an endorsement. We decline releases that make guarantees of results, promote restricted products or services, or make claims we have reason to believe are false.
Corrections and removal
If a release contains an error, the issuing organization can send a correction to corrections@amazingnewsmedia.com. We note material corrections at the bottom of the release, as described in our Corrections Policy.
Submitting a release
Organizations can send a release to editor@amazingnewsmedia.com with “Press Release” in the subject line. Please include the full text, a featured image you have the right to publish, and a media contact.
